Biography

Ahmed Shihab-Eldin is an American-born journalist, producer, and media personality of Palestinian descent whose parents were forced to leave Palestine in 1948 and 1967. He has built a multi-platform career that spans legacy broadcasting, digital news, and documentary, emerging as one of the more recognizable Palestinian-heritage voices in English-language international media. He began his career at PBS and went on to work with The New York Times, the Huffington Post, and Vice, helping to launch HuffPost Live in 2012, where he produced and hosted an interactive global news program. His early embrace of interactive, audience-driven formats positioned him at the forefront of the shift toward participatory digital journalism. After joining Al Jazeera English in 2009, he created and co-hosted the interactive talk show The Stream, which earned an Emmy nomination in 2012 for Most Innovative Program, a milestone that brought him significant professional recognition.
